Philippines host the 2nd Philippine Renewable Energy Summit

Since the Philippines has already approved the National Renewable Energy Program (NREP), it is now ready to lead its energy leaders, partners and stakeholders in achieving the country’s promise in the full development and usage of renewable energy in line with the Republic Act 9513 or the Renewable Energy Act.

On April 19, 2012, the Philippines will be hosting the 2nd Philippine Renewable energy summit at the Sofitel, Plaza Manila. It will be focusing on the business, finance and commercialization aspects of renewable energy.

The event aims to explore the developments happening in the renewable energy sector in the Philippines, give a chance to the country’s policy makers and the major players of renewable energy to discuss the themes arising in the renewable energy sector and to be able to meet and negotiate with domestic and foreign investors.

This event will be attended by public and private sectors, investors, financial experts, scientists and innovators in order to discuss and find ways in order to solve the power crisis in the Philippines. Some of the prominent speakers who will be joining this event are Edgardo J. Angara, Francis Juan, Melinda Ocampo, Ernesto Pantangco, Brad Sterley, Theresa Cruz-Capellan, Pedro Maniego Jr, Undersecretary Naderev Sano, Lawrence Fernandez, Arthur Aguilar, Roberto Dispo and Kell Ohlenschlaeger.
